Orchestra of the Age of the Enlightenment

Can’t believe we’re lucky enough to be hosting an event by the inspired collective Daylight Music.

As an alternative to standing in a long queue this weekend, they promise a lazy Saturday afternoon from 1-3pm with tea and cake, and delicious music from Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment Experience Ensemble with Istante Collective.

Extraordinary People and Extraordinary Music – the OAE Experience ensemble perform music by three remarkable composers from the classical period; Chevalier de Saint-Georges, Maddalena Lombardini, and Franz Joseph Haydn.

The performance by the Istante Collective with Nicola Barbagli (oboes, recorders & accordion), Flora Curzon (violins), Johan Lofving (guitars & theorbo, John-Henry Baker (double bass, violone, spoons & percussion) performing the music of Matteis, Haydn, Bartok and Sinclair.

Daylight Music must be good – they’ve received another Arts Council National Lottery Project Grant to help them deliver a series of concerts in a variety of venues from now till July 2023. They say they’re humbled and grateful to the Arts Council for this level of support.
